The mid-size Ford Ranger fits the bill perfectly for truck shoppers who want the dependability and functionality of a Ford truck and do not need the size and power of an F-Series truck. In 2024, the Ford Ranger will bring its fifth generation online with end-to-end improvements. What about the differences between the 2023 Ford Ranger and the next-generation 2024 Ranger?
If you choose the 2024 Ranger's base trim level, your Ford truck will have the same four-cylinder, 2.3-liter, 270-horsepower engine that has been available in the 2023 model. However, higher Ranger trim levels now have a V6, 2.7-liter twin-turbo engine that is good for 315 horsepower. Across all trim levels, the 2024 Ford Ranger continues to have either rear-wheel or four-wheel drive and a 10-speed auto transmission. The tow rating for both engines is 7,500 pounds.
The 2023 Ranger displays a beltline accent on the sides, a tall, sloping hood, and a rounded nose. In 2024, the Ranger has a boxier body shape, deep scoops, and fender-centric air intakes on the sides. The nose is also completely revamped, with a long element crossing cleanly through the grille and establishing the tall, C-shaped headlights. In addition, the 2023 Ranger is available in two body styles. This is trimmed down to a crew cab, four-door style in 2024. Exterior gear available includes 17-inch aluminum wheels, zone lighting, a bed-mounted power outlet, and power-folding side mirrors.
Inside the 2024 Ford Ranger, you can enjoy a full refresh with a modern look. The large display screen is mounted vertically in the center stack to establish this look. Specific features offered vary by trim, and some of the features currently available include wireless smartphone charging, a navigation system, lane keeping, rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, a Sync 4 infotainment system, SiriusXM, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
